I have finally found my Holy Grail DIY Face mask and I can’t wait to share it with you. Just so you know, I am not a beauty routine person. I have no specific morning and evening beauty routine, or for that matter a weekly routine. I am trying to develop some sort of a regimen though, as being in my 20’s , I don’t think I will be getting any younger henceforth. Also, I have started getting acne , something that never happened in my teen years! It might be because of all the junk food I have been hogging due to lack of parental supervision or maybe God’s way of punishing me for when I did live in parental supervision and would sneak into the kitchen, after everyone was asleep and drink Coke/Pepsi/Mirinda from the 2 litre bottle, meant for guests, and replacing the amount I had drank with water. I lived dangerously back then. True story.
Moving on, a skin mask a week is pretty doable and after some research(pinterest stalking ), and trying and testing, I have finally figured out a DIY Face mask that works best for me. It is an instant pick me up for my skin and leaves my skin super smooth. If I am going out to an important event, I apply this on my face, and it instantly brightens my skin and makes the makeup application and blending the products much easier because of the smooth texture of my skin and significantly smaller looking pores. All the ingredients contribute and address different skin issues that all of us struggle with and this mask works just as well for both the genders.
As it has worked wonders for me, I thought I’d share this DIY Face mask with the world!
Note: If you do not have any of the ingredients of this mask at hand, you could skip it and it would work almost just as well, except for the yoghurt which is required for binding the mask together(Obviously). Also, if you have dry skin, I would suggest adding some other moisturising oil if olive oil is not available.
Things You will Need for this DIY Face mask:
You may also add honey to this face pack if available at hand. For dry skin, I would strongly recommend adding honey as well, for that extra boost of moisture!
Just mix all these ingredients together in a bowl, and apply to freshly washed face and neck. Massage gently for about a minute and leave it on the face for 15 minutes. I would recommend doing this weekly. As the mask has cinnamon in it, which can tend to irritate sensitive skin, I would recommend not scrubbing your face or have a facial before applying the face mask.
I recommend doing this DIY Face mask once a week.
Just wanted to show you how gorgeous I look with the mask on. Tee hee!! I know it looks like poop, but oh well!
So go ahead and give this mask a go. It worked wonders for me and I hope it does the same for you! Till next time , let the force be with you! XOXO
Coffee helps in improving blood flow and making your skin appear radiant and bright. Coffee contains caffeine which when applied topically to the skin, will constrict the blood vessels under the skin and help reduce swelling and depuff the eyes.
Cinnamon has an antibacterial effect on acne and helps combat acne. Using cinnamon can stimulate blood vessels and bring blood to the surface of the skin and smooth out any fine lines by plumping skin.
Cocoa is packed with antioxidants that help repair skin cells and neutralize harmful free radicals.
Sandalwood is known to help with pigmentation and give you glowing skin.
Yogurt is a good source of lactic acid. The lactic acid in yogurt will help dissolve dead skin and tighten pores , restrict premature aging, while also moisturising your skin.
Olive oil is a great moisturizer and helps the mask from having a drying effect on your skin.
Honey is also antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. Also, honey is moisturizing and soothing on the skin.
