Birthday Outfit: Blair Waldorf Inspired

Vintage outfit, circle skirt, full skirt, 50's outfit, Audrey hepburn inspired, Blair Waldorf inspired, Headband, romantic look, Valentines look

How excited do you get about your birthdays? I mean sure it means we get a little older each year, a new wrinkle is on the horizon. our metabolism is getting slower each year, our skin is starting to sag, but hey, lets still get excited about that. Why? Because well, I have a guiltless excuse to take an off from work, I can eat as much as I want because calories don’t count today and because I am surrounded with love and warmth of those closest.

So my birthday falls in February, and yes, that would be more than a month too late for the birthday outfit tag, but my brother was getting married and that kept me super busy and super excited. So yeah, what was I saying? February is the month of “love” apparently, but who cares? It’s my birthday month and that’s all that matters.

I wasn’t quite sure what look I wanted to go for, but I have been obsessing over the 50’s and really wanted to incorporate that aesthetic into my look. I decided to add a Blair Waldorf touch to the outfit with the headband.

I absolutely fell in love with the flirtiness of the skirt and even had a audrey hepburn moment there.

I think it would be suffice to say that I would be taking more inspiration from the 50’s in my coming outfits. Thought I’d leave you with this great quote from one of the most iconic movies ‘Breakfast at tiffany’s

You call yourself a free spirit, a “wild thing,” and you’re terrified somebody’s gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you’re already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it’s not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It’s wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.
― Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Till next time, stay positive!!
